Ms. Petruzzi joined Parker School in 2025 and holds a wealth of experience in English Language Arts having taught it at Kohala High School for 10 years, including teaching honors, general education, inclusion, writing workshop, life skills, and creative writing courses. Ms. Petruzzi holds a master of education from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor of arts degree in English from Eastern Connecticut State University. While at Eastern Connecticut State University, she had the privilege of taking two semesters abroad, first in Italy, then in Ireland – both with a focus on creative writing. Originally from Terryville, Connecticut, Ms. Petruzzi enjoys spending time outside, creating art from repurposed materials, reading mystery novels, collecting seashells, throwing darts, solving word scrambles, and hiking along the Kohala Coast. Her favorite authors are Kristen Hannah, Sally Hepworth, and Rachel Hawkins. Ms. Petruzzi believes that, “the power of creating a safe space for students to grow cannot be overstated – it is what allows magic to enter the classroom.”
