Mr. Walstrom joined Parker School in 2024 with nearly ten years of experience teaching primary school education, including in Seoul, South Korea and in Honolulu at the Waikiki Mindful School. He is also a graduate of the Kū ʻĀina Pā teacher education training program through the Kohala Center and was invited to speak at the Hawai’i State Capitol during the legislative breakfast in support of school garden programs and the importance of ʻāina education. Mr. Walstrom was born and raised in the rainforests of northern Ecuador, has lived on the continent, and has called Hawai’i home for the last 15 years. He enjoys spending time with his amazing family at the beach, exploring the mountains (mauka to makai), surfing, cooking, and having new adventures. His philosophy on education is that, “Education isn’t just about passing on information; it’s about learning and growing together. Each day offers a chance to gain new insights and take thoughtful risks. We are all lifelong learners, constantly evolving and discovering.”
