“Ms. Christian” began teaching at Parker School in 2006. Previously, she worked for four years as an education specialist at Dolphin Quest. Raised in California and Montana, she came to Hawai‘i in 1999 after living in Seattle, Washington and Eureka, California. She holds a Bachelor of Science in marine biology from Humboldt State University and a Master of Arts in education with elementary Licensure from Chaminade University. In addition to teaching first grade at Parker, Ms. Christian also is a director of Parker’s summer arts and athletics camp program. Her son Braedon is a Parker School student and was a member of the very first kindergarten class at the school. When not in her classroom, Ms. Christian enjoys traveling, shopping, the beach and being a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts Parker Ranch Troop 27, which honored her and Braedon with the 2013 Scouting Family of the Year award. She says that one of her students summed up her teaching philosophy perfectly by saying, “Ms. Christian makes the world come alive in her classroom.”
