Mr. Taufmann joined the Parker School ‘ohana in 2024 bringing with him over ten years of experience working in the technology industry. Mr. Taufmann holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Business from Colorado State University. Most recently, Mr. Taufmann developed mobile and web applications as a software engineer at ‘ePlant’ (an agricultural tech start up company that used sensors and AI to monitor plant health). Prior to this work there, he spent six years as a mechanical engineer and software developer for the Jupiter Research Foundation in Puako. He worked on Wave Gliders for the benefit of doing humpback whale research. Mr. Taufmann was born in New York, spent his elementary school years in England, and the rest of his younger years in Colorado. In his spare time, he enjoys training and coaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, surfing and spending time with his wife (a Parker alum from the class of 2003 and current PAU assistant) and their two daughters. Mr. Taufmann shares, “I think you need to find a way to be relatable. If the students can really see how something applies, and how you’ve gone through similar experiences, I think they are more likely to stay interested.”
