Mr. Ruderman joined Parker School in 2021 with more than 20 years of experience teaching at independent schools, including at Punahou on Oahu and The Bishop’s School in San Diego. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in history and rhetoric from the University of California Berkeley and masters degrees from UH Manoa, Tulane University, and San Diego State University. Mr. Ruderman is also an instructor at the Bard College Institute of Writing and Thinking for whom he leads summer workshops. Originally from Los Angeles, he enjoys listening to his son play guitar, doing crossword puzzles, throwing pop flies, and playing pickleball. He believes, “Kids deserve voice, agency, and empathy, and learn best when they have them.”
