Venture into this remote 32,000-acre National Wildlife Refuge that supports a diversity of native plants and birds equalled in few other places in Hawaiʻi. We will stay OVERNIGHT in cabins in this wildlife paradise to learn about the importance of preserving native plants and animals, and the hazards caused by invasive species. While immersed in the lush rainforest we will observe the endangered Hawiian birds for which this National Refuge was founded, and help the staff to maintain the natural habitat, including outplanting of native plants and removal of invasives.
