Aloha Parker School ‘ohana,
Every year, Parker School holds a fundraising event to benefit financial aid. In the spring, we gather to enjoy Kahiau, our annual auction and dinner gala. Our 12th annual Kahiau auction gala was held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the stunning Fairmont Orchid. The school extends enormous thanks to the sponsors and donors who make this event possible, as well as the enthusiastic attendees who share of their time and treasure. We rely on the success of this event to bring in enough funds every year to help approximately 50% of our student body afford a college preparatory education at Parker School. We sincerely thank you for your generous support.
Our 12th annual Kahiau auction gala was held on March 4, 2017 at the Fairmont Orchid and raised $200,000!
About 250 attendees enjoyed cocktails and pupus as they bid on a fabulous selection of silent auction items. Guests also enjoyed “Bubbly & Bling” for a chance to receive a pair of stunning 18k gold flower earrings with 14.27 carats of pear-shaped morganites and participate in “First Bidder Frenzy” for a $250 Visa gift card. Attendees then took part in a live auction after a lovely sit-down dinner.
Winning bidders of both auctions walked away with incredible items, including a private sail on The Maile from Kawaihae; Alaska fishing adventure at El Capitan Lodge; helicopter tour and picnic lunch on Ni’ihau Island; a three night Napa Valley epicurean adventure; afternoon skeet shooting at Kahua Ranch; Telluride rocky mountain getaway and more.
Mahalo to all of our generous sponsors, donors, attendees, committee members and volunteers for their support of our fiananical aid program which helps make the dream of an independent, college-preparatory education possible for more island families.
“I used to be completely stricken by the thought of having to perform at a level that was beyond me….Luckily, with time, I was able to deal with all of that, largely through the supportive curriculum and atmosphere that Parker provides. Now “luckily” is one way to put it, another is “financial aid.” My experiences in middle school were directly made possible by a generous financial aid award.”
