- Support Parker
There are many ways to be a supporter of Parker School. Whether you make a tax-deductible monetary gift to our Annual Fund, a capital campaign, or our endowment; participate in one of our special events that support financial aid or give directly to financial aid and scholarships; or volunteer your time helping with events or projects, we are grateful for your support!
Whether it’s lower schoolers working toward participating in their annual May Day program; middle schoolers chanting and harvesting kalo in the school garden; or high schoolers singing in the spring musical, presenting a case in a debate tournament, or going on a hands-on science field trip, Parker School offers its students powerful opportunities. Our programs, dedicated teachers and staff, and beautiful setting make Parker the special place it is.
We are able to provide quality programs, retain excellent teachers and maintain our lovely campus in large part because of our Annual Fund. Tuition alone covers just over 80% of the cost of educating our students. We rely on our Annual Fund to raise that extra 20%. It is through the generosity of our extended ‘ohana—parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, staff, board members and friends—that we can close that gap and offer our students enriching field trips, a resource teacher to help in the lower school classrooms, and programs such as debate and drama. These are examples of the myriad opportunities Annual Fund helps us to afford each year, and why your support is so crucial. No gift is too small!
More important than gift size is the percentage of participation in the Annual Fund from each of our constituent groups. Participation is one of the key indicators of school support foundations consider when we apply for grants.
We have set up the following giving levels and encourage you to find a level that’s comfortable for you:
- 1976 FOUNDERS’ CIRCLE
- Mauna Kea $10,000+
- Mauna Loa $6,000-$9,999
- Hualālai $2,500-$5,999
- Kohala $1,200-$2,499
- HEADMASTER’S CIRCLE $700-$1,199
- BULLS CIRCLE $250-$699
- ’ OHANA CIRCLE $1-$249
Our current Annual Fund year began on July 1, 2015 and ends on June 30, 2016. Please do contribute; your gift will be put to work for our students right away!

A capital campaign helps fund specific projects designed to improve or expand the physical structure of an organization and generally runs three to five years. Our current Capital Campaign “Broadening Foundations for Excellence” is a fundraising campaign specifically focused on the building of a new Sports and Activities Center. This ambitious campaign will require the generous support of the entire Parker School `ohana. Please join us in this effort to enhance what we offer our students to better prepare them for future challenges and opportunities, and to reinforce our commitment to excellence in education.
Given our academic excellence and growing enrollment, the time has come to move forward with the next step of Parker School’s Master Plan: the planning and construction of the Center for Sports, Science, and the Arts. This exciting and historic step is essential to continue to meet the needs of our growing, talented, and well-rounded students. The new Parker School Sports and Activities Center will become the school’s largest multifunctional space, featuring:
- gym with locker rooms
- technology center
- fitness center
- dance studio
- certified commercial kitchen
- extras: parking, storage, offices, outdoor spaces, walkways, and more

An endowment is a fund made up of gifts and bequests, often as a tribute or memorial to a donor’s loved one. Endowments differ from other funds in that the principal must remain intact for perpetuity so as to generate income for a specific goal such as financial aid or capital projects.
There are many options for giving to Parker’s endowment fund. Please contact the Advancement Office for more information.

Parker School offers financial aid to nearly 50% of its families each year (the national average is about 20%). To maintain this high level of assistance, we work hard to raise funds specifically for aid. We hold fundraising events every year, such as our Fairways & Friends Golf Tournament, and Kahiau, our auction gala in the spring. The proceeds from these events combined make up nearly half of the total financial aid funds distributed yearly. Visit our Special Events page to learn more about these events and how you can get involved.
Throughout the year, we also receive grants and accept donations for our financial aid fund. We are grateful for the support of our financial aid program as it helps us help more families afford a Parker School education.
Direct scholarships are another way to give the gift of a Parker School education. Parker offers several scholarships each year, and these scholarships create opportunities by helping bridge the need-gap for talented students from diverse economic backgrounds. Please contact the Advancement Office if you would like to learn more about establishing a scholarship at Parker School.

“I give to the annual fund to show my support for Parker. Our school blends academics, athletics, arts, community, and history. With so many options to explore, Parker produces individuals, unique in background and experience. I hope to ensure that all future students at Parker will have occasions like Fall BBQs, Dramatiques productions, and Camp Outs as I had. This education of multidisciplinary growth and memorable traditions ought to be continued for future students and are the reasons I believe in and support Parker School.”
- Lysha Matsunobu, Mechanical Engineering, Stanford University | Class of 2018, graduate of Parker School
“Parker School has challenged my children and has given them so many wonderful opportunities. Our ‘ohana gladly contributes to the Annual Fund to provide opportunities to other deserving students.”
– Renee Brighter, Upper school parent
“Giving to Parker School’s endowment is crucial to supporting the very essence of the school. Endowment giving helps us consistently provide financial aid to almost 50% of our families, creating an amazing school family where everyone is truly ‘ohana. We can also save for exciting capital projects and provide stability to the operations of the school. Endowment giving is one of best ways to assist in keeping Parker School such a special place for children to grow and learn for generations to come.”
– Ava Williams, Parker parent & former board member
