Gregory Mooers Joins Board of Directors

Parker School is pleased to announce the addition of Gregory Mooers to the school’s board of directors, effective immediately.

Mooers, a long-time Waimea resident, brings with him extensive experience in education, local government and land use development stemming from his nearly 50-year career on Hawai’i Island.

After moving to Waimea in 1972, Mooers held numerous roles at Hawai’i Preparatory Academy over 15 years, including chemistry teacher, basketball coach, director of athletics and associate dean of students. He then worked as deputy manager director for the County of Hawai’i for five years, followed by five years as vice president in project development for Nansay Hawai’i, Inc. Since 1994, Moores’ has served as managing member and president of Mooers Enterprises, a land planning consulting firm.

“I am excited to bring my lifetime of educational experience to Parker School where their core values of excellence, integrity and compassion, resonate with my own beliefs about education,” says Mooers. “Parker is an excellent independent day school and an important part of the island’s educational infrastructure. I am excited to join such a distinguished group of directors to continue to advance Parker School in achieving its mission.”

Mooers has served on numerous boards including the Hawai’i Preparatory Board of Trustees, Maunakea Management board, and the Hawai’i Leeward Planning Conference.
