2nd Annual Alumni Weekend

June 12, 2019

More than 20 alumni and their families attended our second annual Alumni Weekend on June 8-9, 2019.   The weekend kicked off with seven members from the Class of 2009 unearthing their time capsule to celebrate their 10-year reunion.  Buried just days before graduation ten years ago, their time capsule remained mostly dry except for some damage caused by a leaking bottle of Arizona Iced Tea.  Alums enjoyed browsing capsule contents which included their senior yearbook, a star certificate for a star named after their class, a tiki torch, a Vitamin C water, several AP English exams, and a “where will they be” short story by Rowan Hale, an ’09 graduate.

The weekend’s main event was an outdoor sunset barbeque under a tent on campus.  Alumni and their families gathered around Parker’s maroon picnic tables, where they mingled, reminisced and enjoyed barbeque catered by The Fish and The Hog and listened to live music by Parker parent Mark Saito. Attendees were also treated to an open art night in our Martha Greenwell Art Studio with Parker art teacher Heidi Buscher.  The following day, alumni jumped in the ocean at the Kawaihae Surf Park for a beautiful morning on the water in the school’s outrigger canoe.
