College Counseling

Parker School’s College Counseling program supports, encourages and guides all students in planning for their future after Parker School. Starting in their freshman year, students are exposed to a variety of ideas, avenues and potential paths to explore. Students are provided with numerous opportunities to learn about higher education institutions year ‘round. The college counselor and grade level advisors encourage students to participate in presentations by college admissions officers from 40–50 colleges who come to campus to meet Parker students in person.

The college counselor at Parker School works individually with every student and family as they prepare to embark on this new adventure in their lives. Families receive support every step of the way. Students begin with self-discovery and clarification of personal learning style, needs and goals. They develop a list of colleges to apply to and receive help with test preparation and registration. In the senior year, teachers provide recommendations while the counselor helps students and parents work within deadlines and understand financial aid packages. Finally, the college counselor advocates for our students with the college admissions representatives and supports students as they transition away from Parker School.
