Adult Enrichment Opportunities

COMMUNITY CERAMICS - Six Saturdays In The Studio
Join us for our second Saturdays in the Studio session! This series is designed for adults and older adolescents with or without clay experience. We will run two levels of the course concurrently. The advanced level - for those who have had experience with clay - will focus on guiding students to design and create a personal series based on their interests and desired skill set learning. The beginners level - for those new to the wonders of clay – will focus on building basic skills in pottery and ceramics. This relaxing and fun series is designed to be a six-week course to give artists time, space and materials to work at their own level in the beautiful Parker School pottery studio. Each session will begin with a demonstration of a wheel-throwing or hand-building technique. Artists can then use the rest of the time as an open studio format to work on their own ideas or finish the demonstration technique with the assistance of the instructor. The final week of the 6-week session we will be glazing and raku fire. The cost of supplies (equal to one project each week) will be built into the cost of the course.
